William Shatner and Neil deGrasse Tyson Explore Life and the Cosmos in ‘The Universe Is Absurd’ Live

William Shatner and Neil deGrasse Tyson are set to present their differing views on science and culture at The Universe Is Absurd! in Beverly Hills. The two will take the stage for their conversations over two nights at the Saban Theatre as “lively, unscripted dialogues on the mysteries of life, the universe and all things in between.” In addition, it honors Shatner’s 95th birthday, offering fans from across the country the chance to join the experience as VIPs.
According to a press release from FUTURE of SPACE (the company behind The Universe Is Absurd series), the Beverly Hills shows will take place on May 19 and May 20, 2026 at the Saban Theatre, starting 7:30 Pm.
The Beverly Hills California series comes following the debut of The Universe Is Absurd in Seattle.
The event brings together two of the most recognizable voices in science and culture, each approaching the same questions from fundamentally different perspectives. From their voyage to Antarctica, they return with renewed perspective and a dynamic defined as much by contrast as curiosity. What unfolds is shaped in real time, with each evening taking its own direction.
